Directors Note

Welcome to the 3rd edition of Nepal International Theatre Festival (NITFest) 2025!

This year, we invite you on a journey—one that takes us back to the wisdom of our ancestors, to the knowledge and skills they nurtured through life’s experiences, and to the stories they left behind for us to cherish. Through theatre, we celebrate their struggles, their artistry, and the way they transformed their realities into something beautiful, something enduring.

At the heart of this festival is indigenous wisdom—the deep, intuitive understanding of life, art, and resilience passed down through generations. We recognize it not just as history but as a living, breathing force that continues to shape us. Even today, as we navigate our own lives, we are constantly learning, creating, and redefining our perspectives. This festival is a tribute to that ongoing journey—a space where artists from Nepal and around the world come together to share, reflect, and inspire.

I am deeply grateful to our artists, audiences, art lovers, supporters, and partners who have embraced this vision and made it their own. Your presence makes this festival not just an event, but a warm and heartfelt gathering of kindred spirits.

So, let’s celebrate together. Let’s rediscover our roots, our stories, and our creativity.
Welcome to the land of serenity, imagination, and reflection.

Thank you!
