The 3rd Nepal International Theatre Festival has announced an exciting development that will thrill theatre enthusiasts across the country. For the first time, the festival's reach is extending beyond the capital city of Kathmandu, bringing vibrant performances to three different cities: Chitwan, Pokhara, and Belbari. This expansion enhances the accessibility of the arts, allowing more communities to engage with professional theatre.
As part of this initiative, local theatre artists and groups from Chitwan, Pokhara, and Belbari are organizing their own independent theatre festivals. Each of these small festivals will feature a selection of captivating plays that were first showcased at the NITFEST 2025.
The aim of extending the theatre festival to various cities is not just to entertain but to celebrate the diverse voices and stories found in each locality because theatre has the power to reflect societal issues, provoke thought, and bring communities together.
