Nepal

Nepal is home to a vibrant theatre scene, with a number of professional companies producing work in a variety of styles. Nepali theatre often draws on traditional storytelling techniques, and many plays are based on Hindu mythology or folk tales. Nepali theatre is often political, and many plays deal with issues of social justice and inequality. Nepal's recent history of political turmoil and conflict has also been a source of inspiration for many playwrights and directors.
