Chitwan International Theatre Festival

About the Festival

With an imminent purpose of incorporating and promoting geographical, historical and cultural diversity of Chitwan, and local as well as international theatre artists globally, a three-day theatre performance is going to be organised on the occasion of "Nepal International Theatre Festival -2025". The above-mentioned festival is going to be carried out simultaneously from March 23 to March 25 under festival director of Chitwan, "Anjan Pradeep" and festival coordinator of chitwan "Dev Kumar Shrestha" in association with "Karmi Chautari", "Taranga Natya Samuha" and "Narayani Kalamandir" as it's venue as well as other local organisations as sponsors and promoters.  

In this festival, international plays from about five countries and nearly 30 international artists will participate through theater performances. Additionally, various artistic interactions, activities, exhibitions, poetry festivals, and cultural-musical presentations will also be part of this event. 

We hope this international platform is going to be a milestone in the field of art and theatre in Chitwan and provide new hopes and aspirations for the upcoming future. 

Words from the Festival Director 

In Chitwan, which carries a long history of continuous theater activities, for the first time, we have dared to dream of an international theater festival. However, we want the entire Chitwan to be a part of this dream. When a shared dream becomes reality, perhaps the process of history begins right there. 

This is our collective festival to connect Chitwan with global art. Come, let us all together shape this dream into reality. 

Come, let us all say – “This is possible in Chitwan.”
